This drive really looks cool. Is it based on a Lite-On design? Or does Samsung make their own drives? Right now Buy.Com has Samsung's 32x10x40x16x drive for $88.88. Will Samsung's new drive be the same price or a little bit more than that? Buy.Com has a mistake on this drive they list it as a 32x12x40x16x CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo.

Samsung makes their own drives, and I'm sure the opening price will be more than $88.88 since it is a very fast combo drive.

Anyone know when this drive will be available in the US? This is the drive I think I want now. Are Samsung's just as good as Lite-On's? I wonder if this combo drive would work with my P2 350 with 256mb of ram? I think most 16X drives work with a PII 350 and most 48x24x48x CD Burner's works with a PII 350. Anyone know if Plextor plans on making their own 48x24x48x16x combo drive?

The price will be about the same.
