Best 52X CDRW??

I'm looking to finally replace my TDK 12X CDRW. I see 48X Drives are very popular now, but I'd hate to get that and then it be considered slow in a year or two. So, could any of you point me to the best 52/24/52 CD Writers out now?? I've found the TDK, the Lite-On, and the Asus. I can't find the Asus for sale though. How is the Lite-On? I know it's very cheap, but is it really the top performer?
Any info is helpful....
BTW - I am putting this in the FireWire drive case I already have. It has an Oxford 911 Chipset in it..

TDK is uses a LITE-ON OEM drive, so it is the same as the LITE-ON retail drive except for the front panel.
As for ASUS, I don't trust them at all.
My advice to you is to get the LITE-ON.

Actualy the real performance of the 52X Lite-On is nearly similar with the 48X Lite-On ( but 52X costs more ) .
So, you should go for the 48X .
In the better case Asus is a newcomer in optical storage and has to make his proofs ( or perhaps Asus sells drives made by other companies ) .
For this range of prices , Lite-On is the better without doubt . The worse is Benq .
Benq and Lite-On produce the main part of the burners sold by other enterprises , so if you buy something to these enterprises be sure it's a Lite-On .
I know it can be hard to find Lite-On drives sold under " Lite-On" name .
TDK, SONY,TRAXDATA are actually selling Lite-On products .

Go with a Lite-On. Lite-On's 52x model can be had for $49.99 this week at Compusa. It's under the BUSlink brand, but it's Lite-On straight out of the box and uses Lite-On firmware too.

TDK 52x24x48 just out @ BB... $99... I'm sure it'll come with some MIR soon

Be carefull, there are two 48x models one with mediatek chipset 5 and the newer chipset 6.
Between the older model and newer model even at 48x the newer is better on media compatibility and better burns.
