Ok i got the buslink 52x 24x 52x but i could not find any liteon sticker on it or the LTR-52246S model number on the box :( Is that bad? Does this mean the Buslink 52x 24x 52x at my compusa is not a liteon cd-rw :(

The sticker is on the actual drive itself. You have to open up the box before you will see any indications that it is a Lite-On drive. Even after you install the drive in the computer, Nero will detect it as a Lite-On drive. No worries, you have a Lite-On drive in your possession.

The Lite-on sticker is so expensive to apply it adds $20 dollars to the total cost! :D

Seriously when I bought my Cendyne 48x12x48x a couple months ago, Cendyne had pasted thier sticker over the drive's information sticker on the top of it. I started pulling it off carefully and underneath was Lite-On's.

Ok thanks. I am hoping because its not opened yet. Compusa charges a 15% restocking fee when you bring back stuff opened.

So if it doesn't say liteon on the outside of the box how would you know 100% sure that Bulink cd-rw drives are always liteon cd-rw drives before you open them?

From others in the forums that have bought one, just like you did.
Otherwise, I don't think BusLink has anything on the box to indicate it.

I bought a BusLink just before I left Florida and it was a Lite On drive. I installed it for my Dad, and windows saw it as a Lite On, so did Nero. The box showed it was a 48x12x48, but the drive in the box was a 48x24x48 (it was even written on the tray). But there was only a sticker on the top of the drive to indicate that the drive was a Lite On, nothing on the outside of the box. I was lucky, it was an "open box item" at Best Buy and was $20 cheaper as a result!
