Hi,

It has been known in the past that 24x and 32x Sony CD-Rs are not well readable when burn above 16x using Lite-On CD-Writers, I'm curious whether the same problem exist on 48x Sony CD-Rs?

Thanks.

Regards.

I'd be interested in seeing some results! Anyone have 48X Sony discs and a Lite-On drive?

I know the older (is it really that old?) LTR-40125S can burn Sony discs better than the LTR-48125W and LTR-52246S.

i have it and i burn it at 16x, i don't dare to burn it above, i got phobia for coasters....

quite strange, when i download smart burn utility from Lite-On's site, they couldn't determine what cd-r is that...

Test in my Sony 195 oc LTR-48125W ,sony CDRs 16-40X are almost crap media in speed mentioned in the disc .Writing quality is always under buffer underun protection many times ,during burn ,but finally without data loss . So my opinion avoid Sony CDRs working with Liteon 48125W .Drive doesn't like them !

Isn't that ironic, Sony CD-R's don't work well in their own drives! :P Granted, the drives are made by Lite-On, but you would think that Sony would use their own blank discs to test the Lite-On drives they rebadge.

Strange. I have Sony Supremas 48X media burnt in my Sony CRX215. ZERO c2 errors in WSES and PC Doctor. Are you guys sure the media isn't a dud or something?

Maybe some LOT been better than other, or OEM made by other factory.
There is a rumour that new 48x discs made by Ritek in China ,but all LOT made in Europe ( main in France) have very strange burn in many CDRWs !

i have ritek cds from china and i noticed that the dye color of sony 48x cd-r is not similar to the lower speed but similar to the ritek cd-r we bought from china.

Sony discs do vary from batch to batch.

I have seen some Sony media that is Ritek. Sony standard media (at least the stuff sold in Europe, which is made in France) is made by Sony, and seems to have problems in a lot of writers.

However, the Sony-brand media we have at work (32x, inkjet-printable) is TY, and works on my LiteOn 52x at full 52x without errors. I'm not sure where it's manufactured. It has Sony France's address on the back; sure TY doesn't have a factory in France?

The sucked in my 48125W. I'll be sticking with Fuji/TY discs, thank you.
