I have personally order from newegg as well as many other CDRLabs memebers. They have very good service and also some of the best prices found online.

You can also check out Newegg's reseller rating here:

One thing I noticed about NewEgg.Com they only carry OEM Western Digital hard drives. I wish they would carry the new Western Digital Special Edition hard drives retail boxed versions.

Any reason why you need the retail version? The software and manuals that come with the retail edition box can be downloaded for free from Western Digital's website. Both the OEM and retail versions of the Special Edition drives carry the 3-year warranty too. So its a much better value to buy the OEM drives and then download the software and manuals you need.

Are those new Western Digital Special Edition hard drives quiet?

All 7200 RPM hard drives sound about the same. However, Seagate drives do seem to make the least amount of noise out of the companies that make 7200 RPM drives. But if you have a bunch of cooling fans in your case like me, you can't tell the noise coming from any hard drive.

I've got a Dell 4550 with the variable speed fans which are virtually silent and I can't hear either of my 7200 RPM WD drives. If I run benchmarks that thrash the head around, I can hear muffled sounds of the heads moving, but its barely noticeable and there is no whine from the platters like the old 5400 RPM drives. If anything, I want to quiet down the low hum of the fans even more!

Wow! Strong words coming from a Best Buy employee. :o Where's your company loyalty? Shouldn't you be encouraging us to buy from Best Buy? Isn't it's name alone proof that you get the best buys there?

yes but cfitz, you have to admit, online only stores play on a whole different battlefield

Don't get me wrong, best buy is great, but newegg.com has it all for online stores
