gold CDR?

Is the gold CDR such as TDK Gold and Mitsui Gold really contain the real gold inside? Sorry to ask a silly question like that :oops: , but i'm curious.

However, not all "gold" CD-Rs contain a gold reflective layer. Some are just colored to look gold. The point of a real gold layer is to improve long-term archival performance since gold, as a noble element, will not corrode. The point of a fake gold layer is to look like real gold and fool you into thinking you are getting something you aren't.

I personally don't recommend paying extra for true gold CD-Rs unless you are burning CDs specifically for long-term archival storage.
