Different drives like different discs. FWIW I get results very similar to cfitz's TY results using my Teac 24x at 24x on Mitsui 16x SG media. I haven't tried any faster as I use these media at 4x on a Yamaha drive using the Audio mastering doobry for best results on audio discs I want to keep (copying originals in this way actually makes the copies sound slightly better than the originals on my hifi!).

Basically, as long as the C1 error count averages less than 30 with no C2 errors I don't see any real problem.

you guys need to make sure your system resources are very high, like fresh restart, and also all hard drives are defragged, when this is done on my machine, i get nothing but competely error free disks, weather it be C1, C2, or scandisc in cdspeed

Yeah, but those ain't "Ultima Golds" they're "Gold + Silvers". As I already mentioned, the "Gold + Silvers" got up to 24x, while the "Ultima Golds" only went up to 12x and were only made as 650 MB/74 Min.

I tested the same 700mb file (1 Ghost image file of 700mb) on both a Verbatim 48x Super Azo DataLifePlus & a Fuji 48x disc.
Both discs were burned @ 48x on a Lite On LTR-52246S.

The Fuji's are slightly better quality, but are more expensive than the Verbatim discs. Will I be converted to the Legion of TY? Time and cost will tell.

I hope you aren't too hungry, because you really don't have much crow to eat. Those Verbatim results are still good. Not as good as the TY, but not bad by any means.

Time may tell in more than one way. In five years the Verbatim may be much better than the TY for all I know. That is why I mentioned that I would like to take a stab at a simulated aging test one of these days.

For paranoia purposes, I would like to store my digital photos on each of the three major dye types. So far, these are my choices:

Cyanine - Fuji TY
Super AZO - Verbatim
Phthalocyanine - ???

The first two are no surprise. I figured Mitsui would be the choice for phthalocyanine, but the results I have obtained so far combined with their very high cost have prevented me from finalizing my decision.

Every time I burn TY media (different brands) in LTR-48125W using WinonCD 5, I have mentioned a buffer underrun problem for 1-3 sec in the middle of the burn time . This is not cause any damage in total writing quality after checking with Nero CDcheck but why is this happened ? -My computer's config is checked OK!
Also similar problem (2 times of 1-3 sec ) in a computer using Easy Cd creator .

Any opinion ?

This happened in 2 diff. computers as a wrote before.
