As you can see from the pictures, drives are almost identical...

I'm wondering why do you want to know every little detail? Are you considering to buy any of these two? If so, go for Teac.

It would be interesting to see if the Asus could be flashed with the TEAC's firmware. The TEAC does seem much better than the Asus in tests, and if we could get a TEAC drive for Asus money that'd be cool
