I have a Binary and a Cue file which I am trying to burn to VCD or SVCD.
They both belong together but I don`t know in which format to burn it down in so that my DVD can read it. :-? At the moment under ISO burn the DVD is only reading MP3 and thats it! The vcd method is not recognising MPEG1 format, however, it is downloaded as VCD or SVCD.

Please help!

ps Thanks for the overburn answer, it had to be something stupid!!

I'm not sure I understand your question entirely. If you have a cue file and its corresponding bin file, you don't need to make any decisions about what sort of disc to make. That information is contained in the cue file. In Nero, just select "File"->"Burn Image", open the cue file, then press the "Write" button. The only other setting I would suggest checking is the Disc-at-Once mode.

To burn a bin + cue, do not use Nero if you want it done correctly. Nero has a known issue with multi-track bin files. They may play correctly in a standalone, but they screw up some of the data that the image was created with if it's a multi-track. For bin/cue, use one of: CDRWin, Fireburner, VCDEasy, CDRDAO.

If you only have a bin file, then your best bet is to open the image in isobuster, extract the .dat or .mpg file from the image (use the extract but filter only m2f2 frames -- or something like that -- to extract), and then burn the resulting mpg (if it's a .dat, rename to .mpg) to vcd/svcd using Nero or VCDEasy.

Nero can create vcd/svcd discs fine, it's just the multi-track bin/cue that it can screw up.

Nero might not be the perfect app to burn bin&cue, but to extract it with isobuster is really no logical solution.

This image is a native image of cdrwin, and will burn just great with cdrwin, fantom, cdmate, alcohol and fireburner.

Cfitz is absolutely right that you don't have to bother making format desicions at all when you burn an image. The whole idea of making an image is to have a byte-exact replica of the original stuff. So taking it apart with isobuster should be left as a last resource - in case of coruption or other salvage problems.

Yeah, that's all well-and-good if you have a bin and a cue file. They will probably all burn them correctly except Nero with a bin and a cue.

The question was, what do you do with just a bin. With just a bin, you're very limited. I don't know how good you think these programs are, but it's pretty tough to recreate the cue file markers from just the bin file. Isobuster to extract, and then Nero or VCDEasy to burn a vcd/svcd is a pretty standard and yet very easy way to deal with just a bin file.

Wel I don't think that was the question mate,

And if it was the question after all, then fantom, alchohol and cdmate are doing a great job analyzing the bin and burning it accordingly. 8)

Ghostman's first post in this thread was asking about the bin/cue. His second post in this thread is right before my first post, and was asking about burning a bin without the cue file.

I answered both questions in one response, but apparently that's not clear to you. Next time I'll take more time to quote his text so as to be less confusing to anyone else.

I do appologise for the confusion which my question obviously caused for some, but its all a learning process asking the right question correctly.
In the mean time burning binary and cue together are working under burn image. The burn of lone Binary seems to be a little more complicated but tht`ll eventually work thanks to info recieved here,
I have also recieved a tip from someone who says there is a place or url where I can get a cdr-cue. Have not found it yet but I`ll try eg. Fireburner first.

The plott thickens!! :P
