Try some other good quality media like Taiyo Yuden. There is a good chance that what you are seeing is simply normal operation of the Samsung drive's JustSpeed technology. It may be limiting the burn speed of the Princo to improve burn quality.

There are a number of examples of other drives limiting the burn speed on Princo discs to below the rated speed in the media compatibility thread:

And here are more detailed experiences of some people:

I guess Princo discs aren't the best quality. :(

Good advice, as usual, from Cfitz. Try getting some other media , although those Princos seem to burn just fine in my Lite-On 52246S.

Cfitz;
Hey. Those Princos are not ALL bad... most of the time they give me good burns on the 52246S, with a very low C1/C2 count. I dunno, maybe some people have been getting bad batches?
Atleast of all the media available here in India (which mainly consists of low-grade Chinese knockoff media!) Princos seem to be among the best (which is not saying much :wink: )!

princo is good at first.

but it is very sensitive (temp, sun, scratches)
and it reflexive layer weakens after some period, 6 months is usual.

they cos .35$ if you buy 100pcs piece so they are very cheap :-)

Although I would be interested in doing so, I've never actually tried a Princo disc (they don't seem to be common in the U.S. and I've read Philips won an injunction against their distribution in Europe), so I have to rely on the reports of others. It may be that Princo discs are like CMC discs: inconsistent quality. Some batches/grades work fine, others are poor quality.
