i don't know how much knowledge you have but simply "Intel" chipsets (E,G,PE,GE) are headache free. Stay away from AMD configurations. -

 I'm not one for putting in my 2 cents on these forums but I'm about to now. The above quoted statement is in no way accurate, informative, true or even noteworthy. Why would someone want to make such a lame statement?

Why would someone want to make such a lame statement?

I don't know, maybe because it fits right in with "LiteOn sucks"? I'm pretty sure that this Athlon XP humming along here at 2.3 GHz can smoke his wimpy Wintel POS. And besides, it heats my house too.

rdgrimes: I'm with you there! I refuse to touch intel anymore. Maybe if they can figure out a way to produce a processor type that doesn't need to have the first shipment recalled I'll give them a second chance. Almost every Pentium processor after the P2 has had to have its' first shipment recalled due to..."problems" it does NOT inspire confidence. AMD has been reliable for a long time, and they are SO much faster too. But yeah, even my Athalon 850MHz builds up a lot of heat. I'd deffinatly suggest Intel for laptops or other non/poorly ventilated systems.

Dont blame Intel...

Dear AMD lovers,
dont blame Intel and claim that AMD CPU's are the best. There are a lot of Intel and AMD owners who are using their CPU's happily and not even fighting over the issue.I think we should stop this CPU war and let everybody have his/her own choice.
I myself will stick to Intel as I have got a bad experience with AMD.(heat problems as usual  ).
See ya guys later,

Hello!

I have an AMD, but i had a few problems with it in the past. Some PCI-cards won´t work correctly :(

Maybe my problems come from Via, not from AMD. But that´s not my debt, i only want a good PC

My next CPU is from Intel, because some friends say, that Intel-CPU eith Intel-chipset have less problems that AMD-platforms with Via, SiS, nVidia or ALi.

Intel CPU's have very good uses, Laptops :D

AMD CPU's are great for gamers with WELL ventilated machines, they also make good stoves

Celeron CPU's make great chess/checker board pieces
(old Celeron 300a and 333MHz processors are good though)

Duron CPU's are great for budget machines
