Hi,
I decided to buy a CDRW. lite-on maybe ;)

But which of these options is better:

1. To buy 48/24/48 drive /S or W is better??/
2. To buy 48/16/48 drive and to flash it to 48/24/48.
3. To buy 40/16/40 drive and to flash it to 48/24/48.

Thank you

P.S. What does CMC mean?

1. Get the LTR-48246S

CMC Magnetics is the name of a manufacturer of CD-R media. I don't know exactly what the acronym stands for - Chinese Media Company, Chinese Magnetics Corporation or something like that maybe? Does it matter? Some around here claim it stands for "Crummy Media Company" or a nastier variant thereof.

Be careful, Next Hardware Shop has a poor rating on ResellerRatings. I'm not saying don't order from Next Hardware Shop, but don't be surprised if you experience problems with this company.

Here is their review - http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1708.html

Thank you, you are very lucky guys, in my country the lowest price
of the 48/24/48 drive is 59$ without VAT
/I think that is the english word?/

so the 48/24/48 is the best desicion??? But which is better
the "S" or "W" model?

Lite-On makes only the LTR-48246S; that would be your only choice. In other words, there is no LTR-48246W. :)

There is no W model for the 48x24x48 drive
BBB wrote:2. To buy 48/16/48 drive and to flash it to 48/24/48.

The only 48x16x48 Lite-ON was firmware version S7D5 for the TDK CDRW4800B

Once again, there is no such drive.
Get either a LTR-48126S, a LTR-48246S, and overclock it.

Sorry it's my mistake

1. I meaned in general which drives are better S or W models
for example LTR - 48126S and LTR - 48126W

2. Until 48126S can be overclocked to 48246S, and 48246S can be overclocked to 52246S, is it possible to overclock 48126S to 52246S
without any damage? Are they with the same hardware?

Sorry for my mistakes, but I was misleaded by my friend

10x again
