I have bought disks from 2 different vendors who said they were 99 min disks. Nero and Toast do not see them as so. Am i doing something wrong or did I get shafted? Where can you buy 99 min disks that are gaurunteed and cheap?

They won't be reported as 99 minute discs. Instead, they will be reported as 80 minute discs. That is normal. See Spazmogen's overburning guide:

As for sources of 99 minute discs, here is one thread with a number of suggestions:

I think there was another more recent one as well, but I don't have it at my fingertips. Do some searching through the forum.

Hey I was going to suggest that.

I'm starting to get a reputation around here for being a 99 minute disc user. :o

I followed the directions in the overburn guide, but it still says there is not enough room on the disk and ejects it. Do you have to have the full version of Nero or will the pack-in work? I updated to the latest version too.

I've never tried overburning with Nero Express.

I try and avoid the Express version like the plague.

Just make sure the Preferences under BOTH the General Tab & Expert Features tab is set up.

BTW: Even Nero reports the 99 minute discs as only 703mb.

I made another one last night (Data) and it worked fine using the full version of Nero.

I have done it before with the same model drive. I have one from Buslink and one from Cendyne.

How much data are you trying to burn? And what did you mean in your earlier post where you said "will the pack-in work?"

Amano,
1)have you enabled Overburn in Nero and set it to 99min?
2)when Nero asks you"too much data to fit on disk...do you want to overburn?"answer Yes.
