What are the improvements that usually come with liteon firmware updates?

Generally just matching more media, but occasionally improving write / rewrite quality and speed.
Some companies may change writing method from say CAV to PCAV to increase burning speeds.

As you can see from LiteOn's website (above), the majority are just to match more media, with just a few bug fixes.

The latest ones also seem to improve the read quality a bunch so they are worth while this time all around.
