The other day I was burning a cd when the writer cut out midway through the writing process. The error message received stated that the secondary IDE controller has been dynamically disabled. In the device manager under hard disk controllers there is an exclamation mark next to the secondary IDE controller. In properties it says the device is either not present or is not working properly, code 10. When I called tech support, I was advised to replace the IDE controller cable because my disk drives were no longer being recognized by the computer. Since I also have a CD-DVD ROM connected through the same cable and it'is no longer working as well, all indications are a faulty cable. Needless to say, I replaced the cable and both of the drives are still not functioning. To make matters worse, upon start up the system locked up and had to be rebooted using a rescue disk. Apparently, the CMOS settings got screwed up somehow. I changed all hard disks to auto detect and eventually was able to boot up successfully. However, neither of my drives work and I'm not sure what to try next. I was hoping to find assistance via this message board. If anyone can help, please email me ASAP. Thanks,
