SCSI/ATAPI timeout error?

Hey. Just tried to burn a 620MB CD in DAO in Nero 5.5.10.0. I got the above error (SCSI/ATAPI timeout error) after a really long lead-in (2 min 30 s.) Any ideas as to what I should do? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Nero... no go. Will TAO help?

bump.
here is the log file.
The strange thing is that this only happens with CDRs... I've tried Sony, Verbatim and Prodisc. My 12X Princo CDRW burns fine.

Registry Keys:

PostPosted: Mon Mar 10, 2003 12:38 pm
by KCK
First, you may upgrade Nero to 5.5.10.15a from Ahead's site.

Second, in C:\Windows\System\IOSUBSYS, you may change the extensions .vxd to .vx_ of Roxio's drivers

Acbhlpr.vxd, Cdr4vsd.vxd, Cdralvsd.vxd

and in C:\Windows\System, you may change .dll to .dl_ for Roxio's files

Cdr4dll.dll, Cdral.dll, Cdrtc.dll

You may also need to clean the registry entries for these files, and possibly additional ones; see section S11 in the guide

http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=9597

Finally, if the preceding fixes don't work, you may also rename Scsi1hlp.vxd to Scsi1hlp.vx_ in C:\Windows\System\IOSUBSYS.

Of course, you should back up the registry first, so that you can go back to the initial configuration if these fixes don't work.
