Hi,
'Cause I want to buy a LiteOn, but in my country there aren't any
liteons :((. I decided to buy SONY 48/12/48-it is actually Liteon's
48126S, isn't it?
If yes should it be possible to flash/with Liteon's firmware/ it to

LiteON's
48/24/48 -48246S
and/or
52/24/52-52246S, without any functional problems?

Thank you

Hi,
Thanks for your reply
I want to ask you one more thing:
after I flash the drive to liteon 482428, and
if somethink doesn't work/hardware and or software/
is it be possible to reflash it with the old firmware?
So the warranty will be valid again?

Sony drives (the recent internal IDE variants anyway) are LiteOn drives that have been rebadged by Sony and sold under the Sony name. The Sony firmware is reported to be tweaked a little to Sony's specifications, but many people like to use the LiteOn firmware to increase top write speed in some cases or just because LiteOn releases updated firmwares with improved media compatibility more frequently than Sony does.
