yes, that's the 48x Samsung 50-spindle.

don't know who makes them, but similar discs (similar in design, label arrangement etc.) 32x Samsungs are made by Prodisc

Code: Select all
ATIP:              97m 32s 19f
Disc Manufacturer: Prodisc Technology Inc.
Reflective layer:  Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type:        CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds:  min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity:  702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

so maybe the 48x are also Prodisc?

actually i think Prodisc are supposed to be rather good, as a "second choice" brand, after the first tier: Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim/Mitsubishi Chem., Mitsui.
if i hadn't stocked up on Verbatims i would probably buy that 50-spindle of 24x Samsung myself.

my burner is a Plextor 40x, i haven't burned any Prodiscs on it (yet). sorry can't help.

according to the Media Compatibility With CD-RW Drives thread, some Samsung Prodisc 24x burned 40x on Lite-On 48125W and 52246S drives.
