Fuji Color Swirl CDRs

I've been using a new Memorex52x24x52 drive, and I've been trying out a variety of different media. So far I've used AT&T (CMC), Verbatim DataLife Plus, some old CompUSA 16x (Lead data) that have burned successfully without error. I thought I'd try some Fuji disks since they seem to have universal approval. I bought a spindle of 30 with different colored swirls on top. To my surprise, they work the poorest of all the media I've tried so far. Even with the burn speed reduced to 12x, they don't burn well. I used CD doctor after burning an audio disk, and it would stop reading at about 88%, 71 minutes with multiple c2 errors. Audio cds burn without c2 errors on the other media.

I seem to remember another post about these particular fuji disks having problems, but haven't been able to find the thread again. I tried the red/orange disks from the spindle. Are these color swirl disks to be avoided? Are there particular Fuji disks that are good ones?

Thanks.

I think this is the post you had in mind:

http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=9548

Rdgrimes posts here from time to time, but is more active over at CDFreaks ( http://club.cdfreaks.com ) if you want to discuss your findings with him specifically. I would encourage you to do so (and report back here as well, of course  ) to see if you can find a common link between your batches of media.

Quite a few people have reported problems with these discs, especially certain colors. Pretty weird. I see that none of the stores that carried them have gotten any new stock, so maybe Fuji figured out they are marginal.
