Hi guys,
I want to develop CD Burn Application which will run on HP CD-writer without using NERO SDK. Is there any other SDK or library available to write on HP CD-Writer?

Why don't you want to use Nero SDK? Even though Nero isn't bundled with your writer, chances are extremely high that it will work. You can download the free demo of Nero from Ahead's web site and give it a try! I think Ahead also has a drive compatability list on their site, too.

Can I take this to mean that you have decided not to use the Nero SDK anymore? Is this because you finally discovered the licensing and operational requirements of the Nero SDK? (see the following)

http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic. ... 0809#60809

So you wasted my time by asking all those questions about the Nero SDK, which I took the time to research and answer, simply because you couldn't be bothered to read the first page of the Nero SDK manual and the license file? Not cool at all! :x

And here you are asking another question in multiple threads...

Don't expect any more help from me. Given how you have been behaving on these forums, you might not get any help from anyone at this point.

Oh, and by the way, you're welcome. For what, you ask? You say you didn't say "thank you"? Oh, I guess you are right, you didn't. Never mind...

Don't waste your time, LiteOnGuy. I've already been through this with bkrushna. See my post above, and the various other threads bkrushna has posted. I helped him get the Nero SDK working for his application, and only after that did he read the licensing restrictions and apparently decided it wasn't for him...

Thanks very much for helping me. I said that I already develop appilcation based on NERO SDK. now i want to develop another application which will work on HP-CDwriter only. Why I am saying like this because.

Only few Manufacturers bundled their CD Rom with NERO software like IMOEGA, LG and Samsung but only HP is not providing NERO software with HP CD-Writer. Now in india major peoples use HP , LG, IOMEGA CD-Writers. Now the applications which i have devloped on NERO SDK. it will work only on IOMEGA and LG CD-writers becuase NERO is coming with those cd-writers. but what about HP CD - writer my application will not work with them . now i don;t want to loose any customer becuase i am working in Telecom based Company. So for HP clients we need to find another solution. Got it. That's why i need to develop another application.

Do u think i am mad to develop 2 application twise?
Even though u peoples are thinking that i have made mistake. Then i am sorry to all of u.
thanks once again for kindful help

I'm confused. Why do you say that your application won't work with HP CD-writers? If you check Nero's drive compatibility list here, you will see that many HP CD-writers are supported. Do you mean that HP burners don't have Nero included, and your customers don't want to buy Nero as well as your application? I hope this helps, and I apologize for misunderstanding your question.

My opinion only: I solicit help from the experts on this and other forums on the basis that it is for my personal use only. If one seeks help for business puposes, then the respondents (cfitz, LitOnGuy, et.al.) should be offered a fee for their professional consulting services.

Thanks, CowboySlim, but, speaking for myself, my services are free on this site! :D

LiteOnGuy: I have no problem with you offering your services freely, that's your choice. I feel the same about helping a lady stranded with a flat tire - I'd change it and accept nothing.

OTH: If a tow truck guy was charging her $100 and then found out that he couldn't do it without some assistance from me and asked such of me and further I assisted, I would expect him to offer me a gratuity and I would accept it.

That was the context of my response.

Ah, OK... I see your point.
