Installing Easy CD Creator 5.0 on Windows XP Pro

I just installed Windows XP Pro on my new computer and installed Easy CD Creator. Everything installed correctly, but right after the install finished and it gave me some error saying that DirectCD5 driver was not installed because of some issue with OS.

I searched and found that I need to run some sort of a patch in order for the EasyCD Creator 5.0 to run on Windows XP. I found some patches on the roxio.com site.

Will running those patches fix up the problem?

Thanks.

For the most part, there's an updated version of install shield that needs to be installed for it to load properly if I remember correctly...

Make sure that you have the latest version of the Easy CD Creator 5 software installed. You should not need any patches to run it in WinXP Pro.

If you have an earlier version install disc, after the initial install and before rebooting, install the latest v5.3.4 Update and then reboot. Everthing should then be recognized and work properly.

Easy CD Creator 5 works fine with WinXP Pro.

I use 5.3.4 (I use Nero, too) on my XP Home SP1 box and it works fine. ECDC 5.3.4 was updated from 5.1.

Yes,running patches will solve the problem.

One note of caution: because I upgraded to a 52X LG burner, I had to update EZ CD Creator so it would see the new drive. It did, but I lost all access to Direct CD. I ended up having to uninstall the whole shootin' match and reinstall, then apply the patch prior to the most current one (not sure of the version number). That worked like a charm.
