PLZ,need help with Sonic DigitalMedia Plus 7

hello EVERYONE, hope you are well, 1st visit here,

Have an ongoing problem that COMPAQ/HP on line tech help can help fix, "unless I send them my computer",software issue with my SONIC,DIGITIAL MEDIA dvd burner/copier

Computer,(persario SR1920NX desktop) was purchased new in August this year,
SITUATION reguardless after doing an Fdisk on the computer or doing a restore,
the first time SONIC is used works great, but after that,
getting the following popup, and don't know how to fix it.

popup says,,blue & white

across top,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,SONIC MYDVD PLUS
then
Then feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder
containing the installation package.
'MYDVD.MSI' IN THE BOX BELOW
and show this in a box

c:\hp\tmp\src

then sonic tries repeatedly to install only way to stop is hold power button in until computer shuts down,
(won't stop even when trying & pushing ctrl,alt & delete0


any idea why this is happening or how i can fix it, PLZ, "thank you for the help "AAUS"

hello AAUS, welcome to CDRLabs. :D

did you try booting into Safe Mode, maybe that helps ?

you said the first time SONIC is used works great. so maybe instead of using it again, just remove the program from the Control Panel and use a different software for burning CDs/DVDs ?

especially AFTER a HP/Compaq supervisor tech told me, (below0, I've never heard of SONIC was using Nero, until i purchased this computer in August this year, but now everything SONIC is gone out of this computer...this is only 2nd computer, 1st one compaq 1999-Aug,2006,(win98se & winxp) now this one,but where I used to TRUST compaq, with hp or tech help overseas's & no longer allowed to talk to 2nd level support,here in USA, [b]I am finding Hp "'tec' help is at best a 50/50 for a correct answer to a problem. Thank you again, for the info & help, "'AA" :lol: =D>

(my name)the issue seems to be a problem with the Sonic software. file. As you have tried all possible options, I recommend you to get the computer serviced. Our service engineers will research on the issue and rectify the problem.

1. A shipping box is dispatched to your home and should be delivered within one to two business days from the time the service is requested. Packing instructions, a return shipping label, and strapping tape are included in the shipping box.

Can you do a search for 'MYDVD.MSI' on your entire computer (all drives) before you launch? Maybe it is on a CD. It is probably on a seperate restore partition. It is looking for that file to to repair the installation. If you find the file, point the pop up to it.
