Hi
I was trying to update Easy CD creator 5.0 by dowloading several patches from Roxio's website, but when I executed them I received a message saying : "the program made a wrong operation and will be interrupted" or something like that. (sorry but I'm on win98 spanish version)

On the other hand, DirectCD doesn't work and I can't find any option to avoid it to be loaded on win98 startup.

I'm on Win98 SE, PIII 600, 128 RAM, CD_RW LG GCE8400B and Roxio Platinum 5.0x

I can't find any information the Roxio site regarding support for your drive. LG Electonics ships the GCE-8400B with Easy CD Creator 5 and Direct CD, so it is supported at least in the OEM package.

My suggestion would be to completely uninstall Easy CD Creator and Direct CD and start over. First download the Spanish version of the Easy CD Creator Platinum 5.3.2.34 Software Update.

Reinstall Easy CD Creator 5.0 and Direct CD (but not Take Two as it will be uninstalled anyway). Do not reboot after the initial installation. Install the v5.3.2.34 update and reboot. You shouldn't need any other files or patches.

Direct CD should work, but if you want to remove it Add-Remove Programs opens a Roxio dialog that allows separate programs to be removed.

Let us know if this works.
