hi all, i am trying to use nero 5.5.10.0 to copy the album Gravity by Our Lady Peace. The trick is that i want it to copy with cd text that i specify. I have already successfully done this with Simple Plan and SR-71. Yet for some reason i cant get it to work with this particular cd. i have also tried using blindwrite, but still no success. i do have a burner that supports cd text as well as a cd player that supports cd text. thanx.

To write CD Text, it must be supported by your burner. To test and play it on your computer you must also use a CD Text capable player. The hardware reader must support it also, whether computer drive or standalone CD player.

Using Nero, in New Compilation / Audio CD be sure to check the "Write CD Text on CD" box.

In CDA Options / General Settings, choose "Tempfile strategy"

In Burn, select the Write Method "Disk-at-Once"

If you are copying a commercial CD release, use the FreeDB internet database to download title, track, and artist information.

If you are compiling miscellaneous tracks, left click on each track and hit Properties and enter the CD Text information for Title and Artist.

A CD Text capable player must be used to play the disks. Most computer CD players will not read CD Text. You can download a good freeware one at Digital CD Player for Windows. This player will also play digitally, i.e., no audio connector is necessary from the drive to the sound card.

my burner supports writing cd text (LITE-ON LTR-40125S). my cd player also supports cd text (sony 10 disc changer CDX 540RF). I have sucessfully copied 2 cds already (simple plan and SR-71). When I say sucessfully, I mean, I loaded the cd (simple plan), opened up nero, chose "CD Copy" from the new compilation window, "Disk-at-Once" was selected. I clicked "Copy. The "Write CD" dialogue window poped up and the disc spun up. In blue I read these three messages: "Read ISRC. Locate end of track. Scan subcode for indices." The "Nero's title and CD database" window then pops up. From there I can specify that the CD I'm burning is simple plan. I choose "Selected CD" and tah-dah! It burns a copy of simple plan with the cd text that I specified in the "Nero's title and CD database." I followed the exact same procedure for the album Gravity by Our Lady Peace. The only difference was when the "Write CD" dialogue window poped up, the "Nero's title and CD database" window didn't follow. I went in to the "User CD Database," chose "Add new CD..." I get a dialogue window that reads: "Nero needs to access the CD before you can add it to the CD database. So please put the CD in your CD-ROM drive or in the recorder before you proceed." I click ok, choose my CD-ROM Drive, click ok, NOW I get the "Nero's title and CD database" window. I enter in all the cd text information that I want and click "Add selected CD..." So I think that I have solved the problem. I go to copy CD, still following the exact same steps that i used to copy simple plan, and still no copy of Our Lady Peace with CD Text.... Sorry for the looooong explanation..... i was just wondering why i can't specify what CD text to use before i go to copy cd... its almost as if its my computers decision to let me put cd text on :D anyways....... thanks all of you for your help

If you follow my instructions or the instructions in the Nero help file you will be able to burn CD Text on any audio CD-R.

The correct method for burning CD Text is using the Audio CD Compilation, not CD Copy. You may have be lucky enough to use CD Copy, but you have discovered that this method is not reliable.
