Brand new Plexwriter premier with nero 10.28 isn't as fast??

I just got nero 10.28 and it doesn't seem to be as fast as it should.
The plexwriter is 52x. The medium is 52x. The computer is newly built asus P4PE with 3 gig Intel cpu. It only burns 80 min cd in about 7 minutes.
Nero says it is burning at 32x but that doesn't equal 7 minutes, does it??

Is there some setting in nero (or plexwriter) that I may have missed?
Thanks

Is DMA enabled? See the FAQ forum here at CDRLabs for details on DMA.

Try different media. PoweRec might be limiting the speed. Also make sure DMA is enabled. All this can be done in the Plextools Pro program. I can write a full 80 min. CD in 2 min. and 41 seconds. That is with Buffer Under-Run Error Proof and PoweRec enabled. PoweRec is enabled by default.
