any idea as to what this means

i am using nero 5.5.10.0

and about 3/4 attempts turn out negative :x

track following error
burn process failed at 44x

You're using a Yamaha CRW-F1, right?

Have you tried different media?

Also, you might want to update to the latest version of Nero. It is 5.5.10.35.

yes i am, :D
i have upgraded the software this morning, but still same result :x
i have been using nothing but fuji cd-rs..(i believe that they are great discs)
any other suggestions

What are you trying to burn?

Could be a bad batch of media.

that really exists?
well, this spindle is brand new and it did come w/ a crack in the plastic piece that holds the discs..

im trying audio and data (shns)
and trying to copy cds too

alright i tried to use the nero express and here is what i got
track following error
invalid write state
could not perform endtrack
current program area empty
could not performm fixation

what the hell is going on......?

Bad media isn't unheard of, even with Fuji. :(

Anyhow, it might be worth trying some other media.
