So it's 18th July, 12:30 PM here in India. That's about 9 AM in Germany. When are the guys at Ahead going to put Nero 6 up for download?

LOL, I was thinking the exact same thing. It's 4PM in Germany right now.

Weren't upgrade emails supposed to go out if you ordered a retail version of 5.5 after 5/1?

The retail boxed version of Nero 6 has been selling for the last week at most major electronics stores.

Wonder if it's time to call the Orkin man.

Going to be real interesting to see how this all works out. We shall see how well the marketing gang has their head screwed on straight.

At this point we know they can't control their channels if their life depended on it.

Now the next question is, are they going to treat existing customers like the masses?

Nero 6 looks nice going by the manual I want it.

If you want to read the manual it's here.

It's 7:45 PM CST, and it is well into the 19th in Germany. No Nero 6 yet.

if you want to buy it, go to a Comp USA or Best Buy, they have had them for a few weeks.

Yeah i just checked out their site 9:20 Est and there wasn't a link to download the demo or even purchase the full version.

I really don't feel like buying software without testing it first.

Unfortunately, there are NO electronics stores selling Nero here in India. It's all bundled software. ANd it STILL isn't available for download!

12:30 CST, no Nero 6. What the hell are they waiting for?

ROFL it's not coming out until Monday. We all seem to have forgotten they have a 30 hour work week in Germany. They were all done on Wednesday. :D

Supposedly there's some sort of problem with the Video Editing software holding things up. Or so a guy named MC Driver who works @ Ahead says.

*Edit - It might be pushed back one week. Page 9

To return to the serious things, some won their bet...
No Nero 6 on July 18...
The release is pushed back one week.
To compensate, one benefits from it to add an additional tool in the version to be downloaded.

One name of Ahead Software, I ask you however to agree to excuse us.

One keeps you informed of advance it is promised.

Someone call the Orkin Man... there's a big bug. :o

No excuse. The software has already been released at software vendors across the world last week. They did not let use know in advance either. They let us know after the 18th. They promised by so much, the 18th, the 18th, the 18th.

No excuse, can anyone agree with me?
It should have been released when retail stores kept putting it on sale.

At this point its just rumor.

Funny thing is, notice the Ahead boys have been absent of late?

Assuming the rumor is true, I've been saying all along that they just need to cut it loose since they cannot control their channels.

If anything, they should have released to upgrade customers first, then launched retail and demos.

Yeah, thier has been an Ahead guy in here. Not anymore though...

I also agree about releasing upgrades first.

What I don't understand is the core product had to have been stable, or they wouldn't have gone gold with it. So why the delay, assuming its true?

Yep, I wonder where Craig Campbell has disappeared to?
I agree with taz, if the core product is good, why the delay? If it is some minor component of the package, why not release the product to the salivating masses and update the minor component later?
And if there is a major bug, as aviationwiz said, why did they release the software to the major department stores in the States?
