kaikow,

No, the Nero6009.exe is just the main file. See tazdevl's post for all of the files.

I started my search and post before the location was posted and couldn't delete it due to a following post.

Nero 6 Product Page w/DL links

http://www.nero.com/us/nero-prog.php#

Still no emails to upgrade customers!!!!!!! Should have been the first thing anyone did.

Something that requires further clarification is whether or not the DL version has the same plugins included as the retail version CD. The verbiage on the plugin page is confusing.

Hopefully, we will get AHeads up on which files to download.

Prefer to download only 1 file for the free upgrade to Nero 6, etc.

all these files (Nero, NeroVision, NeroMIX, Nero Media Player, InCD) are demoversions, right?
how do they work?
installing them, they work like the full app for 30 days and then lock up?
or do they function until the date marked on the download page? e.g. August 31 for Nero?

(sorry for the dumb question, never had this issue since i have Nero 5.5 so all downloads till now were updates for me)

Looks like same thing as Nero 5.5. Put in a key and it unlocks Nero, makes it a retail equivalent. Otherwise, I'm sure it'll lock up or keep popping up a "Buy Nero" window.

I am totally mystified by the fact that they have not gotten out the new Nero 6 keys to upgrade customers. It was the easiest part of the process. Given the fact that it's in my hands... why don't I have my key so I can have full functionality. I paid for it.

Upgrade Emails???

FYI you have a typo. Under user guides... "Professionell Products"... should be "Professional".

Ahead packs key new features into Nero 6 at the last moment!
Due to high demand, features originally slated for future versions have now been brought forward in time to add even more value to this already impressive suite. Stay tuned for the new web release, now scheduled for July 25th. Included will be "Special Project" Nero Recode!

I saw that post last week, here one CDRLabs, and i read something about an additional module or something for nero 6 which caused the july 25 release. but i cannot seem to find it on the newly downloaded version.... what is the name of the software added? or is there such thing? it says here the Nero Recode, isnt it included on the initial release? tnx.

It was delayed for the Nero Recode and there is a app called Nero Recode. Guess which one it is?

There are a few added features in the versoin of Nero 6 Ulrtra Edition versus the one purchased in the Retail stores.

1) Ner Recode, which can be found on Nero StartSmart under Video section, but in Advanced mode. Or you can just go to Start->All Programs->Nero->NeroVision Express 2->Nero Recode

2) Now when creating slide shows, we've added transistions.

3) And we've made some cosmetic changes to NeroVision Express 2

4) Nero ShowTime now supports AVI, MPEG, MP4 etc video files, as well as VCD, and SVCD CDs.

And as many have noticed, our website is new, but has a number of misspellings, non functioning links or links still pointing to old pages. Which is causing confusion of all sorts. And as some have notices, our OnLineWebShop is still the old one. All this will be resolved ASAP.

There has been a lot envolved with the Nero 6 release, and never enough time for everything that needs to be done.

And yes, Tazdevl, we will get the new serial keys out to all our loyal customers. We do put a lot of stock in our loyal Nero customers and we have tried to show that by the changes we have made and the new features we have. Many of which, if not most, come from our loyal customers. We have a very large database of loyal customers, and it's not as easy as you make it sound to just send out the serial keys to those loyal customers. And it is our highest priority. :P

You should see an Email soon.

And this is a full functional Demo download. Even without the serial key you have a full version for 30 days. Its not like we are leaving our loyal customers completely stranded without a full version to play with.

Regards,

Craig

Thx for the update Craig. Your insight and communication as always is appreciated. Nero 6 seems to be worth the wait.

Having worked in Product Management and Marketing in a few tech companies myself, you and I both know that key generation and fulfillment regardless of size is not an overly complex process unless you're doing something ad hoc at the last minute with little planning or your processes are totally manual.

My main point was that Ahead lumped demo customers and existing customers into the same fold by not getting keys out sooner. We're talking about a proven revenue stream for Ahead and a potential revenue stream. Despite the fact that the demo is fully functional, communicating and managing expectations with your exisitng customer base is key. Those types of gaps can be very detrimental to a product launch.

Hi Tazdevl,

All you say is very true. And our intention was to do so from the begining. But this is a very large release for us. And our main base of Employees are Engineers. Our company is still small, and over half of those employees are not in management. I'll be the first to admit we were not as fully prepared for this release as we had hoped and thought we were. We've had many demands from a number of different directions for the early release of this product. From Editors, to Retail stores, to OEMs, etc.

And as our web site had stated we did want to provide the serial keys to those loyal customers, and had fully intended too. To be honest, with all the presure we slipped up, in my personal opinion.

But we are putting all our efforts into addressing this. We truly did not mean to ignore or make any of our customers feel insulted or forgotten.

And we have recently increased our Management staff to avoid such problems in the future. Both in Germany and in the US.

And we do appreciate all your comments. It does help point out our week points.

Best Regards,

Craig

LOL, well on your next release I'll be more than happy to offer my consulting services in Program Management, Project Management, Marketing or Product Management.

BTW, only way you can change things is if you admit to your mistakes. Good to see someone from Ahead thinking straight. I'm not saying you did a poor job, a lot of work went into Nero 6 and its apparent, but next time a bit more proactive communication and prioritization would be a good idea.

If you want to see the opposite... look @ Apple. "We had the first desktop 64bit computer on the market"... of course Boxx had an Opteron on the market in the beginning of June. They still refuse to rescind that claim. Thousands of posts about iPod issues... Apple's position "There is nothing wrong with our products and if you put a negative post about our products in the support forums, we'll delete it". Apple never admits to any mistakes, which I think will bite them on the ass at some point in the near future. Decent OS and good industrial design aren't enough these days.

Bottom line, good companies fess up, listen to customers and try to fix issues so they don't happen again.
