New problem with Nero 6.0.0.11

Hi all. Just got my new copy of Nero 6 and tried to burn a DVD copy of some files on my drive. Nero 6 failed with a "Read Error". I tried it again using the Nero Backup module; same error. I tried a new DVD+R/W disk. Same error.... Drive is a Sony DRU-500UXL.
So, I uninstalled 6.x and reinstalled Nero 5.x. Added the same files to the compilation and used the original DVD+RW disk. Success - the DVD burned successfully.
Any ideas on how I can a) better research this so that b) I may file a better bug report with Ahead so that it may be fixed?
Thanks,
Mike

Update:
Nero 5 did burn the disk correctly, but was able to identify and skip a bad file on the disk. Apparently, I have a bad block on my disk.
So, to summarize for this issue:
Nero 5 is able to properly identify and skip a bad file.
Nero 6 simply says "Read error" and fails the backup.
Is this expected behavior?
Thanks,
Mike

I bumped into another weird error, Nero 6 say " Cannot write in DAO mode", when I was trying to make an Audio CD. Then I used Roxio 6 PLT and it did the same CD with no problems. I'm losing faith in Ahead.

I'm glad you guys are brave enough to run this buggy program.
Me? I'll sit and wait a couple of months till ahead irons away most of the bugs you so kindly find. When ver 6.1 or 6.2 are out I might reconsider.
In the meantime I'll stick to something reliable and solid, namely RecordNowMax.

What makes you think we are actually running it? I am just testing, and have no intention of actually using Nero 6 to burn real discs until at least a few more releases come out and they get all the bugs under control. Right now, in my opinion, it is too unstable to be trusted.

No, I just never bothered to update to 5.5.10.42.
5.5.9.17 was working fine for what I use it for, later versions didn't fix any bugs or add any features that were relevant to me, and I tend to follow the motto "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

That's bad news for me, guys. I'm currently downloading nero60011.exe on a dial-up connection, and it would be so bad if it turns out that this huge (20 MB) piece of software was not worth the downloading time
I use version 5.5.10.20 and it runs fine, but I was attracted to ver. 6 by the hype on the Net. Is the available Nero 6
that bad? because it's so depressing for me to lose some blank CDs

Nero 6 isn't that bad... Not currently worth uninstalling a perfectly good 5.5 installation just for a trial of Nero 6 though.

I'm not using Nero 6, other than to try it, due to the date bug in InCD 4.* and the failure of the recently released multimounter.
Until InCD and multimounter are fixed, I have no reason to use other than Nero 5.5.10.42, InCD 3.5.24.0 and EWR 1.0.1.0 (or is it 3.3.2.0?).
