Nero 6 Showtime Bug

Anyone having this problem with Nero Showtime?

I have noticed a problem with the pad on the right side of the Showtime console that should allow you to enter chapter numbers in order to change chapters. It does not work. I’ve tried it on 3 different systems using Windows XP and 2000 Pro and it doesn’t work on any of them. When I try to press the numbered buttons, nothing happens. Also, the Showtime video window does not center itself on the screen when it enlarges. There is no way to drag the video window to the center of the screen, so a large part the video screen is cut off. [see pic below] The only way to see the entire video screen is to select “full screen” in the configuration menu. So the only way to workaround this problem is to have Showtime always open to full screen mode. You can move the console around by dragging it, but you cannot move the video window around or resize it when it is playing a DVD. Showtime is functional though, and has no problem playing DVDs, nor have I found any other issues.

I'm not having any problems with it on my Windows 2000 box with an ATI Rage XL PCI video card. I can drag and resize the video window without any trouble. I can't really test the chapter feature because none of my few discs have chapters. However, on my machine the keypad of ShowTime works the same way as the keyboard on PowerDVD.

Is there anything common to all the systems you have tested that might account for your problems? For example, the same video card or same video card manufacturer? I assume you have updated to DirectX 9.0b, since I don't thing you can install ShowTime without it.

I haven't had any problems with ShowTime in the few times I have tested it. In fact, it seems to be the best put-together, most bug-free component of Nero 6.

Hmmmm. . . this is a strange one. I put it on a fresh Win XP Pro install too and I'm still having the same problem. I installed from the same disc I burned it on. I might have a corrupted copy. Maybe I should try a fresh download and install it from that.
