Nero 6.0.0.15 "Not enough space"

PostPosted: Wed Sep 03, 2003 9:48 pm

I burn split Ghost images to CD's to backup a couple of laptops. I've done this for a couple of years. This past week I attempted to burn these fixed size files with Nero 6.0.0.15 and received the error "Not enough space" ??? I had to use overburn.

Seems like this is a common problem with the latest version. Maybe the lead in/out size has changed?

thank god im not teh only one, i trialed this with many different files and things and it would ONLY burn f there was a 10MB gap from teh cd limit

eg:

a 700MB cdr could only be burned with 690MB of data otherwise nero says there is not enough space.

Overburning was on by default and set to 99 Minutes for 99min overburn on 90min media with my liteon 52x32x52

I put teh exact 700MB worth of files into winISO and made theminto one ISO file, then burned them with Alcohol 120%, perfect burn, tried the same iso with Nero, same error, "not enough space"

Any ideas?

Read here:

Ahead knows about the problem and they're working on it. Until then, go back to 6.0.0.11

after reading that above thread linked it appears that 5.5.10.42 and 6.0.0.11 are the ones that dont have this problem :)

Cheers for the link

yeah, i encountered the same problem... I downloaded Knoppix Image, and i cannot burn it using the 6.0.0.15, i thought my Fuji 48x media are crapping out, tried another media, got the same message... thankfully i did not erase my 6.0.0.11 file yet, uninstalled the new version, went back to 11, and voila! i was able to burn... :)

One other issue in addition to the one posted...

I build a music compilation...after copying the final songs to the Hard Drive...I remove the CD and insert the writable CD-R. Upon doing that...I get an error saying that the media is unaccessable and I click OK and proceed to burn (sometimes). At other times...I freeze up.

Using a Samsung SM-348B on IDE 1 as master (D:)

Thoughts?

Bob

Unfortunately I had already deleted the copy of the Nero 6.0011 version after upgrading to v6.0015 before reading this thread. I however found an files mirror list site and found the older versions still downloadable at some sites like here:
ftp://download.axelero.hu/pub/seged/egyeb/nero60011.exe

Anyone who needs it should download it quick and save it until a new version of Nero that is verified is available.

I'm happily back to 6.0.0.11. I guess Nero acknowledges the problem with 6.0.0.15:

Hello,

We tested that issue this morning and that is currently a confirmed bug in the 6.0.0.15. We will work on this issue and hopfully have it resolved in the next web release.

I also have the patch here.

It's on my personal website. Please link to this page and not directly to that file. If you do, I'll replace it with a zip file full of MP3's from Japanese ganster rappers.

Oh yeah, I haven't tried it myself. So use at your own risk.

Not sure which version of the Nero6patch a few of you have at this time, but if this is the one created September 9th, it will not resolve your issue. Due to some changes we had made to our Nero 6 Registry the patch fails to install properly.

We have created a new Nero6Patch.exe file that will resolve this issue, but I do not yet have access to it, but will soon.

The Nero55Patch.exe file will resolve this overburning issue.

I've asked our IT Admin to obtain the working patches, and post on the Nero website. Hopefully this can be done by Sept 16th at the very latest.

Regards,

Craig

I tested this patch, it's from Sep 9 - installed without a glitch and overburns without a peep. All there is in the patch is a new version of nero.exe, still v.60015.
You can all install this without a problem - at least as far as I can tell untill now. When a new bug is discovered (inevitably) - there will be a new version out on Nero site.

Where does Ahead list the available patches?

I do not see any listed under previos versions.

There should be a web page hat has links to official updates.

Bad - "Not enough space" error in Nero 5

Nero 5 Trog here.

I'm getting the "not enough space" error when trying to burn 697M to a 700M disc. I'm running 5.5.10.50.

I understand 5.5.10.42 didn't have this problem.

How do I fix this, or alternatively, go back to version ...42?

TIA
