After uninstalling Nero Media Player, the file associations, e.g., for .AVI
are still associated with Nero Media Player, even tho NMP has been
uninstalled.

I do not see any Tools | Options in WMP 6.4.
How do I restore the file associations for WMP 6.4?

View | Options | Formats and check "Video file".

Restoring the WMP file associations does not cause al the NMP file associations to go away.

For example, .WAVE and .DAT remain.

Such associations need to be removed, and restored to their former settings, when NMP is uninstalled.

Ditto for all the other Nero/InCD components.
