Can Nero 6 be installed together with Roxio?

I've been a Nero user ever since, but I like Roxio's Drag to Disc program better than INCD... Can I install Roxio after I've installed Nero?

Thanks in advance

Yes. Just don't install InCD. Nero and Roxio won't conflict, but InCD and DirectCD/Drag to Disc will.

I believe you have to install Roxio's software first, then Nero or else the Roxio software will have issues. I had this problem with Nero 5.5 and Roxio ECDC 5.0.

I don't using Roxio anymore, so I have not tested this with ECDC 6.0 even though I got the regular version with the Plextor PX-708A since Nero 6.0.0.19 resolved all of my issues.

I have Nero 5.5 and Easy CD Creator 5.3 installed on two of my PCs simultaneously, and they both work fine that way. On one, I tried installing Nero after ECDC, and ECDC still works.

I do, I have Roxio's EZCD 6 with Drag To Disk and Nero 6, no InCD of course.

I like DirectCD more than the new Drag To Disk.

I noticed you installed Nero after ECDC and did not have any problems. Have you tried it the other way, installing Nero first, then ECDC?

I just tried installing Nero before ECDC, again on a clean install of Windows (I restored my drive to a clean install for other reasons; good timing!). ECDC worked fine when I simulated a burn. I'm running a simulation burn in Nero right now, and it seems to be working fine.

Thanks for trying this. I am going to install ECDC 6 basic right now and see if I run into any issues.

You're welcome. I'll be interested to hear how ECDC 6 works along with Nero. BTW, I was using ECDC 5.3 Basic in my tests.

Just installed ECDC 6 basic. Found out the problem was with the Liteon 166S DVD-Rom connected to a Promise Ultra133tx controller. This was locking up ECDC 6. I switched out this card with an SIIG ultra133 PCI card. Problems have gone away. Both Nero 6 and ECDC 6 basic function together now.

I also have found that optical drives don't work well on my Promise Ultra133TX2 card. Interestingly, I also have an SIIG UltraATA 133 PCI card (the one with the Silicon Image 0680 chipset), and it works great with my LTR-32123S.

Edit: The computer with which I tested Nero 5.5 and ECDC Basic 5.3 is the computer with the LTR-32123S on the SIIG card.

I tried to convert music CDs on my Liteon 166s dvd-rom while it was connected to the SIIG card, but it would not work. I ended up connecting my Plextor PX-708A dvd-burner instead and connecting the Liteon 166s to my motherboard IDE controllers.

The Plextor works fine while connected to the SIIG card and now I can convert music CDs on the Liteon.

It all worked out.

That's strange that the Lite-On wouldn't convert audio discs when it was connected to the SIIG card. My LTR-32123S rips audio fine when it's connected to the SIIG card.

BTW, does your SIIG card have the Silicon Image 0680 chipset? If it does, it will say something like "SiI 0680 ATA/133 Controller BIOS Version x.x.x" on the screen when the computer is booting up.

That's the card I have, but I do not get anything come up during bootup like the ultra133tx2 card for some reason. :(

Interesting; maybe your card has a different BIOS version that doesn't display text when the computer boots.

Just the interface, I think is simpler.

And the new tray icon is horrible

Appearance, functionality is just good.
