Whats up with Nero 5.5.10.54

I recently updated my Nero 5.5.10.50 to 5.5.10.54, and to say the least I'm not impressed. First off everything seems to be ghosted in the boxes, like alot of boxed did not allow me to apply a tick in them.

Secondly I performed a burn on a CD-R and nothing came out, yep a blank CD-R.

Due to my frustration, I re-installed Nero 5.5.10.50 and all went very well.

What writer are you using, Albinoni? 5.5.10.54 is working fine on my Lite-On drives.

My writer or burner is a Liteon LTR 48246S.
Its only this version or upgrade of Nero that has let me down.
Never encountered this problem with the previous upgrades.

.54 works fine for me also.

Perhaps the upgrade file got corrupt during the download. I had a lot of trouble downloading the upgrade. The site was unresponsive the first few days, and when I finally got through, my first dl attempt froze about half way. (Could have been a problem with my ISP though. - Wouldn't be the first time!)

Here's some info on the file:

Name: nero551054.exe, Size: 13,671,289 bytes, CRC-32: 2F5B9A98

If your numbers differ, you might want to try again.

Good luck.

Nero 5.5.10.54 has definitly very big bugs.
See my other threads... (in Ahead software and DVD-recordable)

OK, for CD-recording it is as good as the past versions,
but try burning DVD-R 2x@2x with a multiformat-burner (+ and -).

You will see a 2.4x-speed-option for DVD-R.
But this speed is only for DVD+R !!!!!!!!!!
OK, you can choose 2x - but then the QUALITY IS SHITTTTTTT !
There must be a connection...

Take the same burner and the same type of DVD-R and the use of Nero 5.5.10.45 - then the quality is as good as expected !
