This is great to hear since you have the same drive as me. I'll give 6.0.0.23 a try.

BTW, what manufacturer of DVD-R media did you use?

I used a Fuji DVD-R. (Manufacturer: TYG01) I purchased these because they were $10 less expensive than the 10-pack of Fuji DVD+Rs.

I noticed this also. However, Nero SmartStart will allow you to configure the buttons. Press the "configure" button. (It's the middle of the bottom three.) Then you can tell Nero to run Nero Express for the "Make DVD-Video" task.

Note: The "Make Movie" button will still run Nero Vision Express 2, so you will still be able to start Vision Express when you want to.
