Save to *.BIN/*.CUE ? Why not?

This my first time posting on this site. Nero is a great burning software however I would like to sugest a feature. Could Ahead Nero save image files to *.BIN/*.CUE format? That would be a neat feature for Nero to have and also people that use other software with the only purpouse of using the "Save to *.BIN/*.CUE format" function, would start using Nero as their favorite burning software. Personally, I would like to have that as an option because Nero is a very good example of what "decent" programmers can do when they set their minds to it... Besides this, Nero is and always will be my favorite CD/DVD Burning program.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and have a wonderful week. :D

If you're doing an audio cd, I suggest Clone CD. Just put a check mark in the create .cue sheet area.

You can also use Exact Audio Copy to make an image of the audio disc.

I then burn it with Nero 6.

I will request this as a future feature request. No promise it will be done of course, but it can not hurt to ask. Other requests from customers in the past have been heard and implemented, so you never know. :D

Regards,

Craig

Once again thank you for the replies.

1. Burnatonce Software.
No doubt it is a good software but it saves your CD in 2 files:

*.TOC/*.CUE.

I meant *.BIN/*.CUE .

2. CloneCD Software.
What can I say... It is one of the best cloning programs I've ever used however it saves your CD in 4 files:

*.IMG/*.SUB/*.CUE/I forgot the other one...

I meant *.BIN/*.CUE .

Is ISO-Buster a good program? Even know I am willing to wait for Ahead Nero to implement this feature I found out that ISO-Buster saves images to *.BIN/*.CUE. My question would be: Is this program flawless in terms of saving those images to you HD?

Thanx 8)

no, you must have misunderstood the help file.

you have 2 options for reading a disc image with burnatonce.
one is *.toc/*.dat
second is *.cue/*.bin (only data CDs though).

when choosing Read to Image, when presented with the Save As dialog, you are given two types to save as: Cdrdao Image File (*.toc); Cue Sheet (*.cue).

just finished reading a 535MB data disc to *.cue/*.bin files.
here's the output:
Code: Select all
SPTI:1,1,0: PLEXTOR CD-R   PX-W2410A   Rev: 1.04

Reading toc and track data...

Track   Mode    Flags  Start                Length
------------------------------------------------------------
1       DATA    4      00:00:00(     0)     60:53:34(274009)
Leadout DATA    4      60:53:34(274009)

PQ sub-channel reading (data track) is supported, data format is HEX.
Raw P-W sub-channel reading (data track) is supported.
Cooked R-W sub-channel reading (data track) is supported.
Copying data track 1 (MODE1): start 00:00:00, length 60:53:34 to "D:/Temp/a.bin"...
Reading of toc and track data finished successfully.

Copied toc file to cue file format - please use for data only.

created 2 files: D:\Temp\a.bin, D:\Temp\a.cue .
also read same disc to *.toc/*.dat format, created 2 files: D:\Temp\a.dat, D:\Temp\a.toc .
log was identical to above except for the last line (obviously not there).
(incidentally the .cue file is empty :o . is this as it should be? i think not, something is amiss. burnatonce will not load this bin/cue image. i know nothing of bin/cue files :( ).

give it a try!
