What CD-RW drive do you have? What firmware version does it have?

Also, what speed are you trying to burn at, and what is the speed rating on those discs?

blue Fuji ? Does it say "All Purpose" on them ?

I have these. There is no speed rating mentioned anywhere on the box.
They are TY; made in Japan.

They would burn only at 40x on my Liteon 52327s (as oppose to 52x when using "data" Fuji).

i think this is due to "All purpose". It probably means "MUSIC and data".

my burner is 48x
im not sure what the blue fujis (some one sent em to me w/ no spool or any lables) are at, but they cant be that slow.

i never have any problems w/ the silver fujis (TY)

Could you check Nero InfoTool and see what it says about what model number you drive is.
