where are my files?

Hi, I made a cd with all kind of files, pictures, documents.
When I burnt the cd I leave it open so I can add files, everything went fine so I took it to another pc and I can see all the files and save some of them. then I put the cd back in the first pc to add one more file that I missed, so I add it and then I tried it in the other pc and in the cd there is only the last file, What happened to the other files?.
If I understand right, once you burnt a cdr you can not erase it, right? so where are they?.
I'm using regular cds, not rewritables, my cdrw drive is a lg, I made the cd in a win 98se and open it in win xp pc. I am using nero 6
Thank you

You didn't use multi-session on the second burn, use IsoBuster to view.

Hi, but how can it be that I can write over those files? this means that I do not need to buy rewritable cds, I just select multi-session and I can write over the old files?.
I'll check with isobuster if I can get back those files, my family is going to get crazy if I can't, because I already deleted all of them from the pc :)

You didn't write over them. As you noted, with CD-R you can't write over them. The files are still there and are still taking up space on the disc, it is just that the directory entries aren't pointing to them.

There are a number of ways you can get make them visible again, depending on what you did when you added the extra file in the second session and what computer you are attempting to read them from. For example, you might be able to add another session that imports both of the previous sessions or you may be able to simply finalize the disc and make all the sessions visible.

Burninfool's suggestion will also work, and is a good one. IsoBuster is a very useful tool, and its basic version is free.
