INCD & Win98 equals Blue Screen

I have just bought a new Khypermedia CDRW 52x32 from Officemax and installed the drive with no issues. The drive is recognised and works fine as a CDROM. After installing the Nero Express software packed with the drive if I attempt to run INCD or even try to open 'My Computer' or Win Explorer I get the infamous blue screen of death. It also will not mount any CDRW disks. The system was just newly restored, after a hard drive crash with an original Win98 installation (not Win98SE). Any ideas what's going on or if I need to update my Win98? Thanks for any comments.

Welcome to CDRLabs! :D

What version of InCD did you install, and how is your CD-RW drive identified in Device Manager?

And I will add: what motherboard chipset do you have? (Our QA just found a chipset-specific, 9x-specific, problem of InCD 4 :( )

The Version of INCD is 4.0.1.9 and the chipset is an ALi M1533

Sorry, the second part of your question is that it is listed as an ATAPI CDRW 52-32in Device Mgr.

4.0.1.9 is quite old - lot of fixes to 4.1.0.0. I suggest to give a try with 4.1.0.0.
