InCD Error: Cannot connect to file system

Some software is not playing nice with InCD 4.0.5.6 and 4.1.0.0.

I have a multiboot system, each system is Win 2000 SP 4.

On my latest system, which I use daily, I nave Nero 6.0.0.19 and InCD 4.0.7.2.

I figured that I might try updating to the latest vesion, so I booted to another partition to test before ruininhg my main system.

The test system had Nero 6.0.0.15 and InCD 4.0.5.6.
Much to my surprise during the boot, I got "InCD Error: Cannot connect to file system. InCD server not running.".

So I uninstalled Nero 6.0.0.15 and InCD 4.0.5.6, then installed Nero 6.3.0.2 and InCD 4.1.0.0. When I rebooted, I got the same error, so InCD 4.1.0.0 is affected the same as 4.0.5.6.

Being a masochist, I booted to yet another partition and tried Nero 6.0.0.15 and InCD 4.0.5.6. No problem on that partition.

How do I determine what is causing the problem on the misbehaving partition?

I know that I booted to that partition on 28 Dec 2003 with no error, so something has changed since then that also affects the latest version of InCD.

Others have reported the same problem.

See my thread "InCD Error: Cannot connect to file system" in the newsgroup alt.comp.periphs.cdr.

This should be solved now with InCD 4.1.5.7.

Yes and No.

4.1.5.7 is causing other problems.
See my thread on this topic.
