InCD eject delay

I have just upgraded to Nero 6 along with the latest version of InCD. Previously my InCD was version 4.0.10 and I was using this with a DVD-RW disk for quick back-ups.

Now I have version 4.1.5.10 and although my same DVD-RW disk is working fine, it takes an age to eject. With the previous version this was almost instantaneous but now it takes a good 4 minutes or so.

Can anyone explain why this is and why it is necessary? I tried re-installing the previous version but guess what..... It fails to recognize Nero 6 and will not install, claiming that there is no licensed version of the programme installed. :(

I know that Mount Ranier formatted disks are subject to longer eject times but this is a plain old DVD-RW

Well I guess I am partly answering my own query here. I suspected it may have to do with the formatting of the DVD-RW disk under version 4.0.1.0. I subsequently full formatted a new disk and the eject problem is gone.

This leaves me wondering if the latest version is reading the old formatting as Fast Formatting or is it attempting to modify the formatting on the fly? I also wonder if disks formatted with version 4.1.5.10 can be read and written to by the earlier version or vice versa.

The reason is that the updated version has the capability to quick format your DVD-RW, growthing the format while the device is idle and requiring to close the medium before ejecting. Some devices are a bit slow to do this medium closure.
