Splitting long audio files

I have a few live audio files that I would like to split into separate tracks before burning to disk.
I thought I could use Nero Wave Editor to autodetect the track splits, but it doesn't work very well with live recordings with lots of cheering between songs.
I thought I could simply adjust the track split positions once the detection has finished, and whilst this is true, it doesn't seem possible to manually enter new track splits. Is there a way of requesting new features with Ahead?
Another really annoying thing with Wave Editor is the selection block - I frequently find the end of a recording and then want to adjust the start block, but I can't change it with the Mouse, as it always drags left->right, start->end).
I found a way of splitting tracks directly within Nero Burning ROM, but it's really slow with large files, and I don't seem to be able to store the split files back to disk.
Does anyone know of a better way to do it? Perhaps a different product?
