You have to reencode using TMPGEnc to clip the screen.
What does this have to do with PAL or NTSC?
PAL(720x576) is the broadcast standard for most of the world...NTSC(720x480) is used in Japan and North America.

On Nero Vision Express click the Icon on the bottom called "More", click on Video Option, click on DVD Video, on Aspect ratio check the box of 4:3 that will give recording formate as "FullScreen" instead of "WideScreen. Also on the same window (DVD Video) click on General and then select NTSC or PAL.

burninfool gave you the answer. PAL vs NTSC has nothing to do with this at all.

You can not remove the widescreen format without re-authroing the whole dvd.

I suggest you live with it.

Personally, I prefer widescreen over 4:3. Movies in 4:3 have the outside edges cut off and the remaining frame expanded to fit your TV screen. In simple terms: you loose nearly 1/3 of the visible screen.

Watch the movie the way the director intended: widescreen.

try watching a few of Clint Eastwood's "Spaghetti Westerns" there are lots of shots where there are only 2 people in a room (bar room), each on opposite sides of the room. Nothing in the middle. Cutting it to fit 4:3 would be interesting...

I don't know how you guys got the idea that phaz asking about PAL and NTSC and how they related to Full Screen or Widescreen, the poor guy asked only how to set the Nero recording format to record to Full Screen rather than WideScreen and that is all to it.

Phaz; AS I did say before, you can set the recording platform on Nero Vision to Full Screen 4:3 and when you finished buring the recorded file should be in 4:3 platform. check to see you have the setting correct.
