"How many people would like to see Nero close the Tray?

Hello everyone,

I need to take a poll on a possible new feature we may implement in Nero, depending on how many users actually want this feature.

We've had the request posed by a few users who would like our Nero software to be able to 'Close the Tray' on a Recorder.

So my question is, "How many people would like to see a feature in Nero that allows them to close the Tray on a Recorder from within our Nero software?"

Thanks for any and all feedback. :)

Regards

Craig

Yessss !!! Finally someone is thinking about implementing this feature. It has always been quite annoying to "finish the job" for Nero...

Hope to see this in the list of new features soon !

YES YES YES ! <mimicking Meg Ryan in "When Harry met Sally">

moreover:

i would like this option to be available not only from within the Nero program, but also added to the context menu when right-clicking a drive icon in My Computer.
i remember i had this when i had CloneCD installed, and i find it very useful. why did M$ only give the option to open the tray (Eject) and not close it? really :x

I rather to see some other improvement or functional enhancement in Nero, since closing the tray is not a big issue to be concerned with.

I'm with you on this one, I can push the button just fine, no issues.

Add it. I can't reach the tray sometimes.

I think it is a necessary feature. It would be nice to have the option to choose between closing one drive or all (as in after copying a disc).
I currently use an external freeware called Cd ejector 2.4, it would make much more sense to have this feature in Nero.

Well, normally if the tray is open, I want to do something with it. But there are (at least) 2 exceptions where Nero opens the tray when I want to continue with the same disc:
- after erasing a rewritable
- doing a KProbe scan after burning

So I guess my vote is "Yes", add this option (although it's not a big deal).

What would be a good reason for not implementing that feature?

doesn't unchecking the Do not eject the disc after the burn is complete checkbox in the Expert Features preferences solve this issue?

I guess it would, but I actually prefer it to open most times (wake me up when it's finished- I don't have any acoustic signals activated.)

My computer is right next to me, so I really don't need it at all, and if the tray is open, it's open for a reason, as MediumRare said.

If your putting a disc in, or taking a disc out, since your right there, you can easily push the eject button. So I really can't see why this would be a big deal at all.

Not bad to add it, but I wouldn't put it too high on my to-do list.

I'm a grown up, I can push the button on the drive.
Or better yet, I can train my 3 year old to do it for me :D

Seriously: I have no use for it. But I do have a locking case door that auto tray opening/closing would cause trouble with. I leave it locked so the kids can't turn the power off and ruin daddy's day.

I agree, though it would be quite a feat if it could close the tray on my *laptop* burner! :D

I hate when people are shortsighted enough to demean an idea like this, just because it doesn't suit them personally. This is not a worthless idea or potential feature.

My computer case is far too large to sit on my desk, and is not within very convenient reach of me when I'm seated. For Nero to be able to close the tray would be a nice touch (even though there are already about a billion freeware utilities that do it already).

Actually, given Nero's current size and feature set (~170 MB+ and almost 20 different applications), I can't even believe that such a tiny feature such as this is even being discussed. Just add it!
