From here: http://www.tcmagazine.info/modules.php? ... e&sid=7694

Nero 6.6 supports for the first time a burning of short Lead Outs. Thus one can save up to 80 seconds when burning and has 12 Mb more storage location. A function is offered, which makes it possible to examine at the end of the combustion the medium for errors. The Tool Nero Vision Express was revised completely and is provided now in the version 3.It can read in and further process immediately films already burned. All usual formats are supported. The operation is very easy: One indicates the drive assembly, in which is the CD or DVD and indicates vision express in an overview with Thumbnails, which films are present.

So, anyone know why this isn't on Ahead's site? I'm getting it now, but I'm always skeptical as to installing software for a program that doesn't come right from the manuf.

Just For everyone's information, Nero 6.6 has not offically be released, which is why it's not posted on the Nero Website.

The download everyone is obtaining, was released only to Editors, who had deadlines to make. We are still making bug fixes and feature enhancements to the Nero 6.6 build. So expect some features not to be present in the build you are downloading, and some bugs. :)

THe offical release will be posted on October 18th.

Regards,

Craig

I don't understand why it would be released on a German magazine CD and is not available for general download. If it wasn't meant for general consumption, why is it on a magazine CD? I downloaded it and it works fine, and I'll probably buy Nero 7 when it's available. I just don't understand why it can't be beta tested by anyone. Most people will not go to the trouble to try to decipher a website in a different language. [-X Was the release on CD officially sanctioned?

do you know how easy it is to find stuff just like this, weeks before its released?

also how is that is7-e board treating you? when i had my is7, no matter what i did i couldn't get it to run dual channel memory (matching ddr sticks) also the fan on the series motherboards northbridge chipset were notorious for going bad fast (grinding noises)

lets just say asus is my new bestest bud for mobos

Seeing as there's an update for this version on Ahead's site, I'd be very surprised if it wasn't. 8) BTW- that's a crappy but (unfortunately) influential magazine.

I'll wait until 18 October and the bug fixes.

@CCampbell- why are there no press releases or other information on Ahead's site? And- keep Ian informed!

hoxlund, the IS7E runs fine in dual channel after I moved the sticks to 3 and 4 instead of 1 and 2. 250 FSB with memory divider keeps my cheap Frys OEM 3200 memory happy while my 2.4C clocks at 3.0 for about 9 months so far. The 3-Com Gigabit lan cratered about 2 months ago. Had to buy a pci lan card and just got a new 430 watt Antec PSU, and a new Radeon 9800 Pro.

I've just downloaded it from BitTorrent.

I'll have to burn a few discs soon, but then again it's Thanksgiving up here this weekend. Time to see the family.

I'll also get the full official release on the 18th. =D>
