I have a laptop and my Plex 712 is in an enclosure. I take my laptop to work to play with at night and the other night I went to look at Nero Vision and since the DVD was not attached I could not select to make a DVD.

It would be nice to be able to over-ride what hardware Nero sees so you can author to an image, then burn it later when the device is attached.

Is there any way to do that?

I'd like to put some recorded TV stuf onto DVD.

I'd like to put a whole season of Lost onto one DVD. (broadcast quality) Right now I've got it down to 250 megs an episode and intend to reduce it a bit more. I don't know but I guess I'll be doing VCD quality and then authoring it to a DVD.

run the Nero SamrtStart, click the Configure button.
in the General tab, check the Enable all recorder formats

How about if you go to Recorder->Choose Recorder-> and then select the Image Recorder/Virtual Device.

I'm at work now and I did that but the 'Enable all recordr formats' is not there.

But....I did open Nero Vision and at the bottom I clicked on configure and it DID have that option.

I don't know where to do that. I looked for 'Recorder', maybe that's in Nero Burning Rom .... Yup it's there but that doesn't do it.

I selected the image device there and went into Vision Express and un-selected the use all formats and it went back to Cd.

The fix is in Nero Vision Express to click more at the bottom , then configure, then select to 'Enable all formats for image recorder'.
