The Ahead updates page is now giving MD5 checksums and tells us to use the Nero MD5 Verifier, but I see no link to get the MD5 verifier.

Where does the program live?

so at last someone in the Windows world has grown a little bit of wisdom, and finally understood the necessity of posting checksums for download files. #-o #-o #-o

some MD5 utilities:

MD5
http://www.fourmilab.ch/md5/
command line utility

MD5 Checksum 1.04
http://come.to/hahn
neat - you can drap a file onto the window of the utility and it calculates the MD5 checksum

MD5Summer 1.2.0.5
http://www.md5summer.com/
my favorite from these 3. useful for creating sums of large numbers of files.

FileAlyzer
http://www.spybot.info/en/filealyzer/index.html
http://www.safer-networking.org/files/filealyz.exe
from PepiMK, the author of Spybot - Search & Destroy!
very neat - right clicking a file gives you lots of info about it, including the MD5 checksum.

very few sites (in the Windows world) give MD5 hashes for downloads.

I guess that means it doesn't qualify as a frequently asked question, but I find this information very valuable. Would you consider doing a short writeup in the FAQ section so that it doesn't get lost?
