Nero always writing short lead-out?

I'm new to Nero 6, long time user of 5, and I noticed that Nero is always writing short lead-out on my DVD Video compliations as well as when I burn images. I'm not sure if it was doing it before (past day or three) and I didn't notice, but it has definitely done it for the past five or six burns. I have the option "Enable generation of short lead-out" unchecked in Expert Features under Preferences. The registery also shows a value of 0 for HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Ahead, Nero - Burning Rom, Recorder, ShortLeadOut REG_DWORD 0. But the on screen activity log during a burn shows writing short lead-out and so does the Nero log if I save one.

Nero 6.6.0.3 - Nero Burning Rom
WindowsXP SP2
Piodata DVR-108 burner

Is this a bug or any idea how to turn short lead-out off?

There are no known issues yet according to Nero's website, but no one can say for sure. I don't need the extra space. I'm archiving personal video so write quality and compatibility are highest in consideration. Please take no offense, I'm just looking to shut it off.

I ended up using Nero's clean utility and uninstalled everything and then just reinstalled package 1. Nero no longer goes into short lead-out mode now. The only changes I can think of that I made around the time I noticed it doing it was the registry hack to show actual burning speed and unchecking DVD high compatibility mode (at least 1 gig written) in the recorder's properties. I turned the later off because I was burning a backup of a small XBOX game received for Christmas.

There's probably a bug report in there if someone wants to try to find it.
