Nero Recode 2.2.6.4 bug

Nero Recode 2.2.6.4 (part of NeroVision Express 3.0.1.18) has the following (serious) bug: when trying to encode the main movie from a DVD to Nero Digital mp4 file, the "Subtitle" tab is missing. One can only select the audio tracks but not a subtitle track as you could in previous version.

This happens before even importing the DVD files so it is not related to the type of DVD to be transcoded or to the profile chosen.

When trying to recode a DVD to DVD, the bug is not present and one can select subtitles (the "Subtitle" tab is present).

The bug is present in both Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2000 SP4 installations.

I reverted to the 2.2.6.1 version of Nero Recode and everything is fine.

The last version has been out for a few days, has anybody else noticed the same behaviour?

The DVD I want to transcode is important for me so i am asking: what are the improvements in 2.2.6.4 over 2.2.6.1? If not many, I shall probably wait for an eventually bug-free update.

Thanks

Thanks for the heads up curious77. This new version of recode 2 is full of bugs.

I've come accross this as well. Very annoying, i just wanted to try out all the features of Nero Digital...

In the release notes (http://ahead.de/en/Nero_Recode_2_Release_Notes.html#a1) it says under bug fixes "Included subtitles were not shown if Nero Digital movie was split onto two discs/files".

I've made sure that its not splitting the video into 2 disks and the subtitle tab is still not there.

This issue has already been noticed, and a bug entry has been made. It should be resolved in the next release of Nero Recode to be posted at the end of the month.

Regards,

Craig

The Nero package is too complex and fast-evolving piece of software to expect it to be perfect or even bug-free. It is good to know though that little glitches like this are taken care of as the users discover them.

Thank you Craig and everybody else.
