This is a message for Craig. Is there anyway Nero will allow SVCD and vcd compliant files to be burned on a DVD - I know there's one other software package out there that does this. I appreciate that a DVD with SVCD's or vcd's burned on it may not work on some set tops - but I understand that it works on many others- so why not add this capability as an enhacement to nero?

Not sure if this is what you want exactly, but in NVE3, you can import content from a VCD or SVCD and then burn to a DVD.

Craig how do you exactly do this. BTW, I know that DVDlab alows you to burn SVCD's on DVD's - see http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/tutorial/svcd.html - I was wondering if Nero can/will do the same thing.

Many thanks

Hi Ramlin,

We would be importing the content and the encoding it for MPEG-2/DVD, so it would be reencoded as the imported VCD and SVCD is not MPEG-2/DVD Compliant.

So the solutions are not identical.

If you were to use our software, you would simply launch NVE, select Make DVD->DVD-Video, and then select the option for Import and select the VCD or SVCD you wish to import content from.
